This Privacy Policy explains how VelvetWorld ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). We process personal data in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account details: username, email address, password (stored securely hashed, never in plain text)
• Profile information: full name, age, address, bio, and profile photo
• For Models: application details, "About Me" quiz answers, gallery photos, and payout account information (e.g., bank/GCash/PayMaya details) used solely to process withdrawals
• Messages, photos, and gifts you send through the Service
• Survey responses, if you choose to complete our optional survey

Information collected automatically:

• Approximate location (country), derived from your IP address at sign-up and login
• Whether your connection appears to be routed through a VPN or proxy service
• Your device's browser timezone setting
• General usage data: pages visited, features used, and timestamps of activity (used, for example, to show your online/offline status to Models)

Payment information: Coin purchases are processed by a licensed third-party payment processor. VelvetWorld does not directly collect or store your full card number or banking credentials — these are handled entirely by our payment processor under its own security and privacy standards.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account, and to provide the chat, call, and gifting features of the Service
• To process payments and Coin purchases
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service (for example, screening messages for outside contact information)
• To show relevant safety information — such as a Model's ability to see a user's approximate real location, separate from any address the user may have typed, as a safety and trust measure
• To send account-related emails, such as verification codes and password resets
• To improve and maintain the Service, and to comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

• Other users: your username, profile photo, bio, and (for Models) About Me answers are visible to other users of the Service as part of its normal operation. A user's approximate location, VPN-detection status, and stated address are visible to Models they are chatting with, as a safety feature.
• Service providers: we share information with trusted third parties who help us operate the Service, such as our payment processor (for Coin purchases) and email delivery provider (for OTP/verification emails). These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VelvetWorld, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to records we are legally required to keep (such as transaction records).

5. Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

• Be informed of how your personal data is processed
• Access your personal data that we hold
• Correct any inaccurate or outdated personal data
• Object to or withdraw consent for certain processing
• Request the erasure or blocking of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
• Lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission

6. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing, and privacy features such as photo watermarking and screen-blurring when the app is not in active use, to help protect your data from unauthorized access, screenshotting, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is strictly for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (such as our payment processor and email provider) may process data outside the Philippines. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected consistently with this Policy and applicable law.
